You Own….A Plane? June 26, 2007

When planning a vacation or business trip what always seems to be the # 1 hassle? If you said air travel, you are probably correct. There is no bigger irritation then starting or ending your family vacation with a delayed or cancelled flight. This is why more and more people are turning to ownership of a corporate jet. Why rent a seat with an additional 128 people, when you can enjoy a more intimate setting with just you.

This is what AirSprint Inc. thought as well when they opened their doors in 1999. Based out of Quebec, the company now maintains 11 timeshare jets, owned mostly by corporate users. When an owner needs use of the jet, one is flown to them at their location. The company handles all maintenance services and manages pilot’s schedules. AirSprint happens to be the largest domestic player; however there are other players in the industry, such as NetJets.

Owning a share of a private jet isn’t obviously for everyone, however for those of you who travel a lot for business or leisure; this is a sure more convenient way to get around.
