Creative Market Solutions Scrutinized By Florida Attorney General November 10, 2009

BuyATimeshare.com is always striving to keep our readers up to date regarding the latest developments in the resale industry. In a surprising report released on November 2, 2009 Florida Attorney General Bill McCollum has filed an injunction and a lawsuit against Hicks Inc., doing business has Creative Vacation Solutions and Universal Marketing Solutions, for practicing unethical and deceitful sales tactics.

According to the report management rarely if ever actually tried to match sellers with prospective buyers. The companies promised to market their clients’ properties but were instead stuffing over $4 million of advertising fees in their pockets each month. In order to gain your business, the Palm Beach County-based timeshare resale companies would use claims of already having a buyer in place. All the owner would have to do is send money for an escrow search. While some owners paid upward of $2,000 in hopes of finding a buyer, Creative Vacation Solutions and Universal Marketing Solutions never invested those fees toward aggressively marketing as they had promised.

Additionally, the lawsuit states the companies boasted “superior marketing tools” that included marketing events, presentations and seminars. Sales Managers alleged to have guaranteed that they could sell timeshares within a certain period of time and that buyers were already approved for financing to purchase the timeshare now. As so many scams are still found in the resale industry today, BuyATimeshare.com cautions everyone to avoid any company that claims they can sell your timeshare immediately.

Investing millions of dollars into the search engine optimization necessary to reach today’s consumer, BuyATimeshare.com has innovated numerous marketing techniques to guarantee that your property is in front of the maximum amount of potential buyers possible. So, if you are looking to sell your timeshare and are being contact by anyone that claims to have the solution to your timeshare needs, scrutinize their business closely. Having a good asking price and proper marketing is the BEST way to resell a timeshare.

I have money in your company to sell my timehare. I also paid Creative Vacation Solutions $1886 when they called me and said they had a buyer for timeshare in the amt. of $36.000. I now realize this was a ripoff—however, I waited to long to get my money back from my bank/debit credit card(Visa). Do you think that the Attorney General in
Florida could or would do anything to help me get my fees back? I also paid Resort Condos Plus(RCP Properties) $2050 when they said they had a Buyer for my timeshare for $47,500. I also, now, realize this is a ripoff. Please respond and let me know who can help me!
