ARDA Works to Clean up Timeshare Resale Industry December 18, 2009

Working with reputable resale companies like BuyATimeshare.com to ensure transparency on both the buying and selling process.
Timeshare owners have been taking the brunt of this economic downturn. As many vacation properties have become more of a burden than a destination the consumer is battling both the resort and unscrupulous resale companies who are all looking to compensate for the weak economy. Resorts are adding special assessment fees to already heavy maintenance fees and many timeshare owners have been forced to stop making payments altogether. Meanwhile dishonest resale companies are collecting millions of dollars from unsuspecting owners and often doing little or nothing in return.
ARDA has been working with its members and the resorts to publish two consumer advisories that are designed to help clarify a lot of misinformation in the resale marketplace. BuyATimershare.com has been a member of ARDA for over 5 years and has paved the way for the resale industry. In an effort to guide vacationgoers through the secondary timeshare market the reports include a list of suggestions to choosing which timeshare resale company is right for you.
