A Warning to Timeshare Owners Everywhere August 2, 2010
Posted by jvadney in : Timeshare Resource , trackbackAt Buy A Timeshare.com we often hear of clients who are contacted by certain companies offering an Exit Program. An owner of Geo Holiday points was concerned about the too-good-to-be-true Exit Program. Our client states they had been contacted by a company inviting them to a seminar that they will be holding in the very near future. The Program claims that various resort developers have given out timeshare owners personal information. The Geo Group has confirmed that personal contact information is not shared with any outside organizations.
We have learned that the company is offering to purchase an owner’s timeshare for an upfront fee. The Geo Group agrees that any offer of this nature should be investigated thoroughly. BuyATimeshare.com too warms against any promise that seems too-good-to-be-true. Resorts will not transfer ownership to anyone or any organization who is not in good standing in the timeshare industry.
Selling a timeshare is a process that is not as someone just “taking it off your hands.” With the increasing number of fraudulent timeshare companies joining the industry we caution people to do their homework before moving forward with any company. We strongly advise people to use the third party companies such as Ranking.com, Alexa.com, and Compete.com, to get the real statistics on a company and to see the standings in the industry. Buy A Timeshare.com is glad to see Geo Group stepping up and exposing certain Exit Programs and their attempts to lure owners in with false promises.
