Myrtle Beach could soon see more resort construction on its famed stretch of oceanfront – this time for a new Hilton timeshare property.

According to a story on, a 22 story, 230 unit timeshare tower has been proposed for North Ocean Boulevard at a potential cost of $41.5 million. The property would be a Hilton Grand Vacations Club (HGVC) branded facility and is being planned by Crystal Blue Investment Group, which hopes to begin construction on September 1st pending approval from the city.

The project is the third new accommodation enterprise planned for Myrtle Beach this year, coming on the heels of a proposed Homewood Suites Oceanfront Resort & Conference Center and a Residence Inn-SpringHill Suites Oceanfront Resort. The activity is breathing new life into a city which hasn’t seen new hotel construction since 2009.

“It’s not the construction boom we saw in the mid-2000s, but it may be a trend in the making,” according to city spokesman Mark Kruea, who was quoted in the article. “It seems confidence in the economy has returned and we’re seeing the benefits of the tourism advertising that community has done.”

The resort would be the second HGVC-branded property in Myrtle Beach, along with Hilton Grand Vacations Club at Anderson Ocean Club.

The expansion of the Hilton timeshare brand in Myrtle Beach is more confirmation of the location’s popularity, as Myrtle Beach has been a top timeshare vacation destination for years. Most of the major brands are located there in addition to Hilton, including Bluegreen, Marriott, Westgate and Wyndham.
