Together with donations from our office in Tampa, Florida, BuyATimeshare.com was able to contribute 1,778 pounds of food to local charities.

In addition, BuyATimeshare.com hosted a fundraiser at Peddlers Daughter in Nashua. The event included a raffle to raise as much money as possible. Headlining the raffle was a free vacation and airfare for two provided by BuyATimeshare.com. On Monday, November 21, the managers of BuyATimeshare.com donated their time at the Nashua Soup Kitchen. This came as a welcomed surprise to the Food Pantry, which expects to distribute over 1,000 Holiday Boxes to needy families in the area. President of BuyATimeshare.com Wesley Kogelman said, “We look forward to another great holiday food drive and I look forward to helping these families again.” A special thanks to Frederick’s Pastry’s for participating as a drop off location. In addition to contributions made to the NH Food Bank Wesley Kogelman has teamed up with his local church. Located in Derry, New Hampshire, the NorthRidge Church is hosting the January 2011 Fill the Bus Food Drive.

President and CEO of the local advertising firm BuyATimeshare.com, Kogelman and his company help timeshare consumers. His team allows people to market their properties online and offers a marketplace of affordable vacations for buyers and renters. They are one of the few firms who specialize in timeshare resales.

With a recent food drive resulting in over 3500 pounds of donations, Kogelman is excited to see just how much a school bus will hold. NorthRidge Church fills every seat in their 72-seat passenger bus with bags of groceries. They are delivered to the Salvation Army Food Pantry and Chester Food Pantry following the Holiday rush. Last year both emergency food pantries were depleted over the holidays. The NRC Bus rolled in right after Christmas packed with groceries donated by their church members. They completely filled both pantries just before the sever winter power outages.

Pastor Mike Mills of NorthRidge Church expresses the need for The NRC bus and the importance of contributions from patrons and businesses alike. “We are looking forward to filling up the North Ridge Church Bus again this January. With so many groceries to deliver in our community, we are grateful to Wesley Kogelman and his company for their compassion to help us fill this bus. That means filling a lot of hungry tummies in Southern New Hampshire this January.”

Consolidated Resorts and the Timeshare Resale Market September 21, 2010

The Las Vegas-based Arthur Spector Companies has recently become the proud owner of the operating assets comprising the Tahiti Village resort and Club de Soleil as well as many resorts throughout Hawaii. In bankruptcy court the developer was the successful bidder on July 20, 2010. And while ownership has changed hands these resorts are still providing the same unforgettable vacation experiences. BuyATimeshare.com, specializing in timeshare resales, works with an active marketplace of buyers and renters who have been inquiring as to the fate of the Consolidated Resort.

Arthur Spector explains “We are pleased to bring this business back under our control of our local family that has succeeded in the timeshare business for over thirty years.” After Consolidated Resorts discontinued its operations in June 2009 due to the overwhelming effect of the credit crisis and the slowed economy, its major lenders put a halt to funding the properties. A Whitehall Fund, sponsored by Goldman Sachs, had initially made a significant investment by acquiring 75 per cent of the majority interest. Though the Whitehall Fund has since terminated its interest in the Consolidated Resorts group of companies, ownership has recently changed hands.

Consolidated Resorts has a collection of timeshare properties throughout Las Vegas and the Islands of Hawaii, providing affordable vacations for families and couples every year. “We are especially thankful that we were able to assist the trustee to protect the interest of over 100,000 timeshare owners in these difficult times. All of the timeshare resorts have remained fully operational, the owners have had uninterrupted use of their vacation plans and continue to choose Las Vegas and Hawaii as their vacation destinations. We look forward to rebuilding this vital sector of the Las Vegas economy.”

With the winter months approaching, Las Vegas resorts like Tahiti Village and Club de Soleil have become increasingly popular on the resale market. Vacationers enjoy a selection of Hawaiian destinations. Sands of Kahana Vacation Club, Kahana Beach Resort, The Gardens at West Maui, Kahana Villa Resort, Maui Beach Vacation Club, Maui Banyan Vacation Club, Kona Islander, and the Imperial Hawaii are just some of the magnificent destinations awaiting your arrival.

Buying a timeshare is a serious decision. With a growing inventory of Consolidated Resorts you are sure to find your next vacation property purchase or rental with BuyATimeshare.com. If you are looking to find a buyer or renter for your timeshare, our advertising program will expose your property to the millions of timeshare consumers around the world.

Exit Programs, Postcard Companies and Timeshare Owners September 15, 2010

Posted by Bryan Connelly in : Customer Comments, General, News & Events, Timeshare Resale, Timeshare Resource, Travel , add a comment

It’s alarming, the number of timeshare owners turning to exit programs. Many timeshare owners have been subject to increased annual dues along with high resort assessment fees and need a way out. The strategies used by these companies have helped owners to unload unwanted timeshares… but at what cost? A growing number of consumers are reporting that some post card companies never transferred the ownership out of the individual’s name and now they remain liable for the maintenance fees.

For some, the exit companies provide instant relief, transferring ownership out of the timeshare owners name and into an LLC. An Exit program will operate like a middleman. Anyone can transfer the ownership of a timeshare however. Many companies are equipped to transfer timeshare ownership but it is paramount that the transfer is handled correctly and legally. One such company that we recommend is TransferATimeshareTitle.com. Fast and efficient is great, but you also want to know that your timeshare is in fact being transfered.

Post card companies send out mass mailers directly targeting timeshare owners across the US. Friendly representatives contact each owner by phone stating that their company has a way to get rid of their unwanted timeshares. All the owners need to do is be present at a local hotel in their area. Enter the ‘squeeze play.’ The salesman starts to pitch 50-150 timeshare owners, stating that timeshares have no value and the only option for them to get rid of the timeshare is to pay thousands of dollars to their company.

Not all exit programs are from unethical companies however. In fact, to many owners who have disposed of their timeshares successfully, these companies are saviors. But there is no reason to pay over $3000 to do so little. At least an advertisement on a timeshare resale website reaches out to buyers, a licensed broker can negotiate the sale, a title transfer agency can handle the closing, but a postcard company is not a licensed broker. And while they work with title transfer agencies directly, the closing costs only range from $500 to $700. So why charge over $3000?

A legitimate exit program will send a list of the most valuable properties to some brokers and they will try to sell off what timeshares they can. But any owner can contact a broker and pursue a commission-based sale for their timeshare. The less valuable properties are transferred to a shell company which will disregard all payment and collection requests from the resort. This shell will then file bankruptcy and the fees must now be paid by the remaining owners. Though post card companies will approach you with an attractive offer, know that if you are going to take that leap of faith and sit with a ‘counselor,’ you will pay $3000 to $4000.

If you are simply looking to transfer a timeshare, ensure that the transfer is being handled correctly and ethically. Companies like TransferATimershareTitle.com specialize in lawful timeshare closings. Beware that if you pay some company $3000 to take your timeshare, you may be surprised by another annual maintenance fee invoice from your resort.
