With the support of more than 40 professional athletes and celebrities and Diamond Resorts International, a global leader in the hospitality and vacation ownership industries, $805,000 in net proceeds were successfully raised to benefit the Walt Disney Pavilion at Florida Hospital for Children (FHFC) at the second annual Brian Gay Invitational at Mystic Dunes Resort & Golf Club in Celebration, Florida on December 12-14, 2014.

Diamond ResortsWith more than 400 attendees, golfers and celebrities participating in the event, the weekend included a celebrity/amateur golf tournament on Saturday, December 13 in which foursomes were paired with a celebrity athlete. The 2014 celebrity field included hall of fame athletes Reggie Jackson, Gaylord Perry, Marcus Allen, Eric Dickerson, and Richard Dent and other accomplished stars from the world of both sports and popular music.

During the Friday night welcome reception, and with the first pick in the celebrity draft, the foursome from Dick’s Sporting Goods selected Ryan Longwell, a retired placekicker, 15-year NFL veteran and the all-time leading scorer in Green Bay Packers history. His golfing abilities paid off as their group came away with the first place trophy in the celebrity-amateur event.

The culmination of the weekend’s events was the Diamond Resorts Celebrity Invitational, a celebrity-only golf tournament on Sunday, December 14. The winner of the PGA Tour Division with a 9-under 63 was JB Holmes, the winner of the 2014 Wells Fargo Championship. The Celebrity Division featured an entertaining playoff between Atlanta Braves President of Baseball Operations John Hart and John Smoltz, a Cy Young winner and longtime star for the Braves. Smoltz, making his debut on the ballot to be inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame this year, defeated Hart on the first playoff hole.

The world-class event began on Thursday, December 11 at Isleworth Country Club, where after a day of golf, guests were entertained by Country Music’s Colt Ford. In the 1990s, Colt played on the PGA’s Nationwide Tour with the tournament host, Brian Gay. Saturday evening’s gala dinner was prepared by celebrity chef and humanitarian Art Smith, followed by an awards ceremony and live auction. Participants were then treated to an exclusive concert on the Mystic Dunes driving range by one of Country Music’s hottest performers, Chris Young.

“This was an incredible opportunity to give back and get involved in the great work that Diamond Resorts is doing for the community. Not only was every detail executed seamlessly, but the Mystic Dunes Golf Course was impeccable and the competition was keen. Diamond Resorts delivered a world-class weekend and I am honored to have been a part of it,” said JB Holmes, PGA Tour Player and winner of the Diamond Resorts Celebrity Invitational.

“I can’t think of a better way to spend my weekend than by contributing to a worthy cause while enjoying a beautiful day out on the golf course with some great competition,” said John Smoltz, retired Major League Baseball player and sportscaster for MLB Network and TBS.

According to Michael Flaskey, Executive Vice President, Chief Sales and Marketing Officer, Diamond Resorts International®, “At Diamond Resorts, social responsibility is a pillar of our company’s core beliefs and it is our privilege to be able to give back to the local communities in which we work and live. The Brian Gay Invitational gives us an amazing opportunity to engage in our charitable efforts while also doing what we do best: helping our guests Stay Vacationed™ while creating lifelong memories. We appreciate everyone who took time out of their busy holiday season to be a part of this event. With the tremendous generosity of our celebrities, golfers and sponsors we were able to not only achieve our goal, but go well beyond our expectations.”

Research Funded by Diamond Resorts International Reveals the Benefits of Regular Vacations December 4, 2014

Posted by Steve Luba in : english dating in germany, News & Events , comments closed

According to a recent Diamond Resorts International study conducted by Nielsen, people who take regular vacations are considerably happier and feel healthier than those who tend to skip their holidays.

Diamond Resorts The online survey was commissioned by Diamond Resorts International and included more than 2000 respondents aged 25 and older with an annual household income of at least $35K. The “Vacation Integration Towards an All-inclusive Lifestyle” (VITAL) survey compared happiness, health, vitality, relationships and job satisfaction of two groups of survey participants — those who vacation at least once a year and those who never go on vacations. While the study included a broad variety of factors and questions, the general conclusion was obvious: regular vacations are not simply a pleasant luxury, they have a significant impact on our well-being.

Despite the obvious contribution that vacations make to health and happiness, 52% of respondents, a majority, did not take all of their paid vacation days last year, forfeiting on average more than seven days each year that they could have spent relaxing at a beach, touring foreign cities or taking on the slopes, rather than sitting behind their desks. One of the most significant factors guiding this decision was money: 38% of survey participants who did not take a vacation in the last year cited higher unemployment as the main reason and 70% of respondents who did not travel at all last year said it was too expensive in the current economy.

Diamond Resorts understands the importance of regular vacation time as well as the dilemma that financing a rewarding holiday may cause. In response the company has developed a network of more than 300 premier vacation destinations that offer affordable luxury vacations to all of their customers.

“At Diamond Resorts International, we have always believed that vacations are a necessity for a happy, healthy, well-balanced life and we believe everyone should be viewing vacations that way,” explains President and CEO David Palmer.

This opinion is backed by noted psychologist Dr. Dale Atkins, the Diamond Resorts Vacation Doctor.” “This supports what I see in my practice every day,” Dr. Atkins says. “Vacations should not be considered a luxury — they are a must for our happiness and health in an increasingly stressful world.” Based on the survey results, Dr. Atkins identified the five main reasons why vacations are essential: “Vacations can make you feel sexier, happier, energized, more satisfied with your job, and healthier. And thanks to Diamond Resorts, these are realistic goals everyone can achieve.”

Financial Report From Timeshare Developer Diamond Resorts Shows Flaws In System August 16, 2013

Posted by Steve Luba in : english dating in germany, Information, News & Events, Timeshare Resale , comments closed

It all depends on how you look at it. Whether you’re looking from an industry perspective or a consumer perspective, the timeshare industry can present a very different look based on your point of view.

In reading through the second quarter financial report from Diamond Resorts, it is apparent that their IPO from last month is having an impact on how they present their message. From an industry perspective, it’s a very rosy picture with major indicators all up. Total revenue, sales, tours generated and price are all up, which is a consistent theme among the big brand timeshare developers during this reporting season.

The growth numbers are impressive but need to be viewed in light of recent acquisitions this year. Even so, a 43 percent jump in total revenue is more than just pocket change at a time when the global economy is sputtering along.

Long live tourism! And the discretionary spending that it brings.

But from a consumer perspective, there are the standard flash points that need to be checked and have been a point of emphasis for years with this industry.

Diamond's Cypress Pointe Grand Villas

Diamond’s Cypress Pointe Grande Villas

Diamond reported that their average transaction price went up nearly 30 percent to just over $16,000. Good news for the developer – bad news for the consumer. Their reasoning? Because of selling larger points packages and higher sales to new customers rather than existing owners.

So let me see if I have this straight. Their sales went up because new owners need to buy more points (the Monopoly money-type value of which is arbitrarily determined by the developer) and because Diamond can essentially set the bar for prices.

Nice … for the developer. For the new consumer, not so much.

(Editors Note: I understand that the averages can be skewed based on the existing consumer to new consumer ratio – with new buyers needing larger points packages as an entry point compared to an existing owner topping up their totals. Thanks to the reader who reminded me of this – you know who you are. But as the economy rebounds, what is stopping the developer from changing the goal posts so owners find themselves needing to buy more points each year?)

This isn’t to say that the product isn’t worth it. The value of any product is determined by those who are willing to pay for it and, to be fair, their average price is about $4,000 less than the average overall price of an interval industry-wide. But there are better ways to buy in than this.

Especially when you look at their sales and marketing expenses, the amount of overhead that went into generating that sale in the first place. Diamond says it is 50.7 percent of the overall price, and they clapped their hands because it’s down from 57 percent at this time last year. Which means that out of that $16,000 price tag, $8,000 is going to pay for expenses – which is your money.

Owners often wonder why the timeshare prices on the resale market seem depressed, but this is the major reason why. Think in terms of car sales – the new car purchase covers marketing and commissions and the used cars are significantly less on the resale market. Same with timeshare.

Again, this isn’t a knock on the developer, it’s just that there is a better way to buy timeshare than through the developer. And that’s online through sites such as ours. There is a Diamond Resorts Grande Villas unit in Orlando on our site right now for $5,999, but people need to know that the option exists and many don’t until they are already exposed to the product.

The good news for consumers is that Diamond only closes about 13 percent of their toured customers, which means 87 percent walk away from the resort without purchasing on the spot. Research supported by the American Resort Development Association not only shows that 32 percent of all timeshare sales occur through the resale channel (up from 17 percent in 2010), but that the number of people attending sales presentations has decreased. This would indicate that those buyers, once they have toured, are looking at other purchase channels other than through the “for today only” atmosphere created at the resort.

Again, the more awareness created about the savings through buying timeshare on the resale market, the better.

Timeshare Operator Diamond Resorts Completes Purchase of Island One and Pacific Monarch Resorts August 2, 2013

Posted by Steve Luba in : english dating in germany, News & Events , comments closed

Timeshare operator Diamond Resorts International has announced the closing of two strategic acquisitions, adding Island One and the remaining portion of Pacific Monarch Resorts to Diamond’s network. Diamond has acquired the management contracts for each company’s properties, and added Island One’s timeshare owner families to Diamond’s portfolios. Diamond had previously acquired Pacific Monarch’s other management agreements and owner families in 2012. The closings of both acquisitions were contingent upon the completion of Diamond’s initial public offering, which closed on July 24, 2013.

Diamond logo“We are thrilled to complete these transactions, which together add 9 new properties, 13 new property management arrangements, and over 25,000 owner families to our network,” stated David F. Palmer, Diamond Resorts President and CEO. “Coinciding with our initial public offering, these transactions will benefit our business by adding significant cash flow to our hospitality management segment and enhancing our owner base while enabling us to drive cost synergies. These types of acquisitions represent an excellent strategic growth platform for our business, and we look forward to fully integrating these resorts and their owners into the Diamond Resorts family.”

The Pacific Monarch Resorts transaction was paid for with cash proceeds from Diamond’s initial public offering, while the Island one acquisition was paid for in shares of Diamond’s common stock.

Diamond had previously consummated a transaction with Pacific Monarch Resorts that added a substantial portion of that company’s assets, including their resorts and their approximately 75,000 timeshare owners to the Diamond network. With the closing of this second phase of the transaction, Diamond will now assume full management over all of the Pacific Monarch Resorts, including the Cabo Azul Resort in San Jose del Cabo, Mexico. Diamond had also previously entered into an interim agreement with Island One Resorts to assume management control of its business. With the consummation of the acquisition, Diamond has assumed full operating control of the Island One business and added its approximately 25,000 owners to the Diamond Resorts family.

— Riviera Beach and Spa Resort in Capistrano Beach, CA

— Riviera Oaks in Ramona, CA

— Riviera Shores Resort in Capistrano Beach, CA

— Bryan’s Spanish Cove in Orlando, FL

— Orbit One Vacation Villas in Kissimmee, FL
