Resort Travel & Xchange (RTX), a leader in the timeshare and vacation ownership exchange industry, is delighted to announce that it has reached 80,000 members.

Entering the third quarter of 2013, RTX had approximately 70,000 members. Today, the growing exchange provider has a member base of approximately 80,000 members and growing, an impressive gain of over 10,000 members in the last year. Additionally members are more active now than ever before with total company transactions being up 225% from last year, a record high for the exchange provider.

Resort Travel and ExchangeRTX’s continued growth can be attributed to its member-focused approach to consumer awareness and education. Through consumer outreach initiatives, RTX has spread the word about its membership benefits that add value to any timeshare owner’s purchase, and existing members such as Brenda and Dick Lidbom are happy to tell others about those benefits from their own experience.

“Through RTX we have been able to visit many locations that we might not have been able to visit otherwise. When planning vacations in the past we have asked ourselves where do we want to go? Now we are inclined to say, let’s see where RTX can take us,” says Brenda Lidbom, RTX member from Winston Salem, N.C. Lidbom continues, “The benefit of staying in a place where you can go to the grocery store and cook your breakfast and one of your other meals makes your vacation dollar go so much farther, and just to have access to so many places where we can do that is a real plus.”

“When RTX was looking for a location with us, they were not trying to find something that was just accommodating, they were trying to find something that was in tune with what they knew we enjoyed,” says Dick Lidbom. “One of the things that RTX does is when you call in and you make contact with a person, that person is going to be the same one that you complete the whole process with. They want to make sure that they satisfy you and the better they get to know you, the better they can do that. Relationship building is one thing that all businesses need to consider, and I believe it was a designed consideration when RTX was founded.”

Through RTX’s unique approach to providing flexible exchanges, members are able to request a location anywhere rather than just searching through a limited inventory of affiliated resorts. Once a request is placed by a member, a dedicated RTX Travel Consultant searches for availability in all resorts and hotels in that area. Additional benefits include split weeks which allow members to split their vacation time so they have the option to take two separate trips, a deposit life of up to 48 months, a $117 exchange fee for domestic or international travel, and last minute getaways starting as low as $49 per week.

Over the past year RTX has implemented several member-focused initiatives to enhance the customer experience such as increasing the customer service staff and providing them with additional training. In doing so, RTX has seen significant growth with the number of exchanges nearly doubling since this time last year while the number of getaways booked is more than twice the amount it was last year.

Boracay is known for its powdery white sand beaches and as the “Party Island of Asia.” The resort has 31 units composed of eight studios, eight villa suites, and 15 courtyard units. There is a swimming pool and restaurant/bar on the property. White Beach, the island’s entertainment hub, is a two-minute walk away.

RCI Celebrates 40 Years of Timeshare Exchange February 5, 2014

RCI, the global leader in vacation and timeshare exchange and part of the Wyndham Worldwide family of brands, turned 40 years old yesterday, marking a significant milestone for the company and the vacation ownership industry as a whole.

“When Christel and Jon DeHaan founded RCI on Feb. 4, 1974, they invented the concept of vacation exchange and forever changed the shape of the timeshare industry by adding an entirely new level of flexibility and choice to travelers,” said Gordon Gurnik, president, RCI. “Since then, RCI has partnered with some of the most respected companies in the hospitality sector to continue moving the industry forward. Today, we celebrate the achievements of each of our affiliates as we look ahead to the next 40 years.”

RCI timeshare exchangeWhat began four decades ago as a stack of index cards housed in a shoe box has grown into an unparalleled vacation exchange network of more than 4,000 affiliated properties in approximately 100 countries — the largest in the world. RCI’s approximately 3.7 million subscribing members have access to this vast network, and have created countless memories traveling to these quality affiliated resorts.

“Our members share our passion for travel, culture and adventure,” said Gurnik. “As we celebrate 40 years together, we want to thank each of our members for their enthusiasm for travel and their choice to see the world through vacation exchange. And as a token of our gratitude to them, we will be releasing several exciting member and consumer promotions throughout the year.”

Since RCI brought the flexibility and choice of vacation exchange to timeshare, the industry has grown rapidly. In the early 1970s there were 45 timeshare resorts around the world; today, the number tops 5,000. The types of products and services available to timeshare owners have also increased significantly, and the concept has grown and flourished around the world.

Over the years, RCI has continued to transform the industry, leading the way with first-to-market innovations that have given its affiliates a competitive edge while delivering a richer experience to owners and RCI members. Some examples include:

“We have some of the best and brightest minds working at RCI, who are constantly looking for ways to improve on an already celebrated vacation exchange system,” Gurnik continued. “Our reputation and track record of being an innovator in the industry is only possible thanks to the spirit and dedication our associates have for delivering the best experience to RCI members and affiliates.”

As RCI celebrates its 40th anniversary, it continues to look ahead for new ways to bolster the future of the vacation ownership industry. In 2014, RCI has plans to improve its online experience and content with the goal of furthering positive messages about vacation ownership while improving the exchange experience for members.

DAE To Conduct Outreach Seminars For Australian Timeshare Owners October 28, 2013

Posted by Steve Luba in : Dial An Exchange, my online dating experience, Timeshare Exchange , comments closed

Timeshare exchange provider, DAE (formerly known as Dial An Exchange), is teaming up with a group of Australian Independent Timeshare Resorts to host information sessions across the country for timeshare owners to get the most out of their holiday ownership.

Timeshare owners are invited to attend an Ownership Awareness Session in their region – an Australian first, bringing owners together with Resorts to increase their knowledge of, and engagement with, their timeshare product.

DAE new logo“Through these information sessions, we will be able to update timeshare owners on all the exciting developments that have taken place across the industry to improve the benefits of their holiday ownership,” said Gary Fog, Business Development Manager of DAE Australia and New Zealand.

“With a changing market, many new products and services have evolved over time which were never available to owners when they first purchased, and not everyone is aware of some of the great benefits that timeshare owners now have access to through their holiday ownership.

“We want to engage owners and show them and their families how to make the most of what they own and all the wonderful opportunities available to them.”

Throughout the open forums, both DAE and the Independent Resorts will provide a broad overview of the industry as a whole. Owners will have the opportunity to ask questions of Resort Managers and gain a better insight into recent resort developments, along with an overview by DAE on exchanging and products that improve the value of their overall holiday ownership.

Korora Bay Village Resort Managing Director, Stephanie Kewming, said the sessions will unite timeshare owners from independently managed Resorts, and build stronger relationships between members and Resorts.

“As an Independent Resort Manager, I see these sessions as an opportunity to educate owners on how Independent Resorts are run – by members, for members,” said Ms Kewming.

“Because Independent Resorts are managed by fellow timeshare owners, we are able to build more personal relationships with members and their families. My family and I get so much value out of our ownership and the purpose of these sessions is to encourage people to make the most of it and get their families involved,” she said.

“These informal sessions are all about education and enhancing the customer experience – the collaborative effort with Independent Resorts is an Australian first for the timeshare industry, and just one of the ways DAE is contributing to a stronger future for the industry,” said Mr Fog.

Timeshare Ownership Awareness Sessions will be held in November and December throughout selected locations in Australia.

Limited seating is available at each venue so registration is essential. Owners can register by visiting and clicking ‘Book Now’; by booking through their own resort; or calling the dedicated toll free event number on 1300 510 148.
