Wesley Kogelman and the Managers at BuyATimeshare.com treated their staff to an exciting Hibachi dinner at Nashua’s famous Mikata restaurant.

The Japanese Steakhouse & Sushi Bar is a local favorite where everyone was able to relax and enjoy some great food with their friends and loved ones. “It’s important to promote out employees and the effort they put into everyday” said Kogelman.
In Tampa, BuyATimeshare.com employees celebrated the holidays together with an event catered by the always decadent Cheesecake Factory. Wesley Kogelman explains that it’s not all just about celebrating the holidays, but about keeping his team happy. “It’s a great chance to get everyone together after a long year of hard work and celebrate all of the success we’ve had.”
In 2011 BuyATimeshare.com was included in the prestigious Inc. 5000 list as well as sponsoring several events for local non-profit organizations. Building up to Christmas was holiday-inspired week of contests and games. The staff was able to win gifts from under the charismas tree, or could spin the prize wheel for every property that joined the resale market.
The New Hampshire office wrapped up the weak of celebration with an office-wide luncheon and the first annual “Ugly Sweater Contest.” Participants donned the most hideous Christmas attire they could find to win the title of ugliest holiday sweater. In Florida, employees decorated their desks with holiday ornaments, garland and lights

With a sluggish economy and high unemployment, corporate holiday parties have reached a 20-year low. Holiday celebrations are crucial to keeping a team close and to boost morale among colleagues. Everyone at BuyATimeshare.com is definitely showing signs of the Holiday spirit. From everyone at BuyATimeshare.com, we wish you a very Happy Holiday Season!

The 13th Annual Shared Ownership Investment Conference has been aptly themed “A New Perspective,” and will focus on networking and the sharing of ideas. Subjects like the future of shared ownerships like traditional timesharing, fractionals, and private residence clubs will be covered by those who have had success in those segments.
Theme Parks Eliminating Discounts is Good News for the Timeshare and Travel Industry June 7, 2011
Posted by John Stephens in : News & Events, Travel , add a commentOne way you can tell that the economy is rallying back in the tourism industry is when the theme parks begin to take back their generosity.
SeaWorld made a couple of announcements in the last few days that indicate they are trying to get back to normal with their pricing structure. The first was when SeaWorld Orlando and Busch Gardens in Tampa Bay announced they are ending a ticket promotion that allows Florida and Georgia residents buying one-day tickets to keep coming back for the rest of the year, according to a report in the Florida Today. The move comes as both parks try to capitalize on improving attendance and a wave of new attractions, including the new $40 million Cheetah Hunt roller coaster in Busch Gardens.
This hits the drive-to market right between the eyes and is a bold move considering the drive market was their bread and butter market during the recession as visitors looked for ways to reduce vacation costs. The incentive was used to get people within easy driving distance to attend the parks, even if it was just for a day trip. The removal of this incentive indicates that the parks are concentrating more on longer stays now that travel numbers to Orlando are at record levels, with over 50 million visitors to Orlando last year.
And longer, multiple overnight stays means visitors will be looking for accommodation, especially timeshare rentals.
Just a few days later, SeaWorld announced a hike for the price of its two-day combo ticket to $119.99 per adult, according to the Orlando Sentinel. That’s up four percent from the $114.99 it had been charging for tickets good at SeaWorld Orlando plus either the Aquatica water park or Busch Gardens Tampa Bay.
Now, you may be thinking “great, prices are going up at the worst time.” But this is actually good news for the industry as more travellers, and a tourism industry back to normal, is not only good for the economy but creates the confidence in tourism operators to develop new products and grow the industry again. The flow-on effect for the timeshare industry will mean more people in resorts and lead to the type of refurbishment and new development needed to keep the timeshare industry moving in the right direction.
But, if prices are beginning to rise, now is the best time to buy timeshare or rent timeshare, especially now that summer is here. Don’t wait on the sidelines while the inventory gets snapped up. Check the deals on the BuyaTimeshare.com website by clicking here.
Taking Vacations Despite Higher Costs Is Good News For The Timeshare Industry May 23, 2011
Posted by John Stephens in : News & Events, Timeshare Rental, Travel , add a commentIn another example of the strange post-recession world that we live in, since when do higher travel costs equate to higher numbers of people wanting to go on vacation?
Answer – when people are fed up with staying home and are catching the summer fever.
Numbers released this week by travel site TripAdvisor.com reveal that the higher costs of travel (primarily due to higher gas prices and the flow-on effects to higher airfares and associated expenses) are not deterring people from planning a vacation this summer.
86% of travelers are planning a leisure trip this summer according to the website, up from 83% last year at a time when gas was about a dollar a gallon cheaper than it is now.
That’s great news for the timeshare industry, since these are the people who would factor into timeshare rentals and help boost the bottom line of resorts renting out excess inventory to help defray costs at the resorts. Which helps to keep maintenance fees in check. Which helps keep timeshare as a very attractive, less expensive alternative to hotel resorts. Not to mention the owners who place their timeshare for rent on sites such as BuyaTimeshare.com to cover their maintenance fees and make some cash in the process.
You get the picture.
The travel and tourism industry is more interconnected today than it’s ever been, thanks to the internet and the changing way people book vacations. The more people that take vacations, the better off the entire industry is.
And that doesn’t even factor in the already very high occupancy rates for timeshare, at about 80%, and the high satisfaction rate for the product, at about 84%.
It’s not like these people don’t know their vacation is going to cost more money, as 71% in the TripAdvisor survey say they know they’ll be spending more on their vacations this summer. 17% say they’ll be spending less, which means they’re either cutting back from last year or living under a rock.
People must be pretty frustrated at the thought of another staycation summer of discontent if they are so determined to spend more money to get out of Dodge for a while.
I say bring it on!
Let’s get fired up about vacations this summer. Timeshare is the best vacation option anyway and people looking for great value should be looking on sites such as BuyaTimeshare.com to see what’s available.
It’s about time that people were bold about their timeshare vacation and told their friends and family about the great facilities and excellent experiences they have while staying in a timeshare.
Find out for yourself by clicking here and browsing our website to rent timeshare and come back to tell us about the great time you had during your vacation this summer.
Higher Visitor Numbers are a Very Good Indicator for the Timeshare Industry February 8, 2011
Posted by John Stephens in : General, News & Events, Travel , add a commentGetting a grasp on the condition of the timeshare industry is tough, since many times people just look at the sales figures and try to come to their own conclusions about the health of the industry.
On the surface, the fact that new sales have plunged to 2003 levels could lead people to think that demand for the product has dropped off and that potential owners are not happy with timeshare. The facts say otherwise, as 84 percent of owners are satisfied with the product and occupancy rates hover at the 80 percent mark.
People are using their timeshares and are happy with the product.
The low sales volume has more to do with the financial sector, as most lenders stopped giving money to developers (and just about everyone else) following the 2008 economic meltdown. Without the funding to make consumer loans, developers couldn’t finance timeshare purchases, which led to cutbacks in their sales and marketing departments and, well, you get the idea.
When looking for indicators about the health of the industry, keep in mind that the timeshare sector is really just a sub-group of the travel industry, so looking at how travel and tourism are shaping up will give us a better idea of the potential for growth. For example, if you are an Orlando timeshare owner, chances are that you were on vacation first before buying your first timeshare. That would have made you a tourism statistic long before you became a timeshare statistic.
Looking at tourism stats for Orlando (since Orlando is the capital of the timeshare industry), final air-traffic figures released last week by the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority showed passenger traffic rose by 3 million people in December, up 5.7 percent compared with the same month in 2009, according to the Orlando Sentinel. That helped boost airport traffic by 3.5 percent for the entire year.
The Sentinel also reported that hotel-tax collections for Orange County (which is where most of the Orlando hotel industry is located) rose 15.4 percent during the month of December compared with December, 2009. The county collected $14.3 million for December, $1.9 million more than the same month a year ago. The increase is the 11th consecutive month of year-over-year gains for the “tourist development tax,” which is charged on short-term rentals, mostly hotels and motels.
Even hotel occupancy was up, as Smith Travel Research data showed that Orlando hotels recorded an average occupancy of 63.2 percent for the year, up 6.3 percent from the 59.5 percent occupancy recorded in 2009.
The numbers show that more people are flying into Central Florida, staying in resorts and spending more money than they did in 2009. Once this takes hold for a longer period of time, and the financial markets continues to thaw, then it’s only a matter of time before the timeshare industry begins to grow again at a substantial pace.
Our hope is that those people traveling to Orlando and other major timeshare destinations such as Las Vegas and Myrtle Beach check out the timeshare resale market before paying too much for a “new” timeshare through a resort.
Great deals can be found for Orlando timeshare here at BuyaTimeshare.com, so for more information about how to buy timeshare on the secondary market, click here.
How The BBB Has Ruined Your Buying and Selling Experience January 12, 2011
Posted by Bryan Connelly in : General, Marriott Timeshares, New Features, News & Events, Timeshare Rental, Timeshare Resale, Timeshare Resource, Travel , add a commentABC News discovers a misleading grading system that has deceived consumers for over 2 years
For decades the Better Business Bureau has been seen as a beacon of truth to those who needed to know the difference between a trustworthy business and a deceptive one. Recently, the BBB has had a light shined on its own operation, as ABC News and 20/20 investigates. Business owners are accusing the bureau of running a “Pay for Play” scheme, extorting money and potential customers from businesses that refuse to purchase a membership.
Many consumers utilize the BBB as a resource to find out which companies they can trust. Unfortunately, over the past 2 years a growing number of entrepreneurs have witnessed a skewed representation of their businesses. Despite resolved complaints and genuine service, without paying a membership fee these owners would never be seriously represented by the BBB. And the consumer is left in the dark and forced to overlook an otherwise reputable company, only to choose the one that bid the highest.
Some Los Angeles-based business owners have already confirmed multiple errors made by the BBB’s grading system. While some have purchased accreditation for non-existent companies, others have proven their point by getting an ‘A’ rating for a known terrorist group. Better Business Bureau executives maintain that the grade was given in error, but an overwhelming number of business owners, and consumers, have come forward to tell their side of a potentially harmful and deceptive business practice.
Company owners are being solicited by a telemarketing racket that promises a better grade for the price of around $400. This fact has been confirmed time and timeshare again by multiple companies nationwide. And without paying this fee, there is no way to get a higher score. BuyATimeshare.com stopped paying for its membership in 2010. Having worked in timeshare resales, this author can attest for the damage it has done to the industry, and to our reputation as an independently owned business.
The acknowledgment of this scam is paramount in an economy that cannot afford to squander it money on those who would rather Pay to Play than to provide a reliable product. BuyATimeshare.com urges consumers to base their buying and selling decisions on more than just a BBB grade, or any website that is designed to embrace the negative power of a complaint.
