Set to begin at 8:00am on Monday, April 7, 2014, the Resale Forum will be the first scheduled business session of the Convention, to be held April 7-10 at The Venetian Resort Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The ARDA World Convention is the world’s largest gathering of timeshare industry executives, with nearly 3,000 participants expected to attend and discuss trends and strategies important to the growth of the industry.

The theme of the Resale Forum is “Resale Best Practices Workshop” and is structured to identify best practices for the development of a comprehensive resale program at so-called legacy resorts, the vacation ownership resorts which are traditionally under the control of a home owners association and are no longer in active sales.

“ARDA statistics show that only 24 percent of these resorts have a resale program for owner inventory. Such a low percentage is not only detrimental to owners looking to sell their timeshare but also to a resort’s ability to attract new owners to the resort,” said Kogelman.

“We have been operating in the online resale space for 14 years and understand what it takes to market to today’s Internet-based consumer, so I look forward to participating in the discussion,” Kogelman added.

In 2013, directed $103 million in confirmed buyer and rental offers to advertisers looking to sell and rent their units. The success of the company is directly related to online marketing strategies which position to the forefront of searches for buyer-related terms that potential owners will enter when looking for vacation ownership products.

“The resale market is only getting stronger, with ARDA’s own statistics showing that resales jumped from 17 percent to 32 percent of overall sales from 2010 to 2012. With many of these buyers using online outlets such as ours, we want to help develop a program that will be beneficial for these resorts in need of a resale solution,” stated Kogelman.

We want to partner with them to help facilitate the development of a legitimate, vibrant resale sector.”

Timeshare resale advertising website reports a significant increase in the overall value of offers sent from prospective buyers to timeshare owners through the company website in the second quarter of 2013.

The total dollar value of buyer offers sent to owners advertising their timeshares for sale increased 284 percent in Q2 2013 compared to a year ago, with an average offer value of just over $17,000. The overall range of offer amounts varies considerably due to the wide spectrum of resorts and weeks available on, but the enhanced technological improvements made to the site are given as a major reason for the spike in value according to president and CEO Wesley Kogelman.

buyatimeshare“We have made it much easier for buyers to place an offer on our advertisements due to our Timeshare Pulse online account system, so this is contributing to the offer values placed onto the ads on our site,” said Kogelman.

“Our web interphase structure is integrated with an alert system which allows buyers to receive email alerts when a new property comes onto our site, aligning with specific criteria they have programmed into the system. An alert is even sent when a current advertiser adjusts the pricing on an ad, so buyers can respond effectively to the timeshare they are looking for,” Kogelman added.

Such activity does not come as a surprise to industry watchers, with statistics released by the American Resort Development Association (ARDA) reinforcing the trend towards more resale purchases in timeshare sales.

In the 2012 Shared Vacation Ownership Owners Report from the ARDA International Foundation, timeshare resales were cited as making up 32 percent of new timeshare sales, up from 17 percent in 2010. Industry executives heard during the ARDA convention in April that timeshare buyers are looking more to resale companies because they know they can secure better terms for the purchase compared to working with a developer.

“The internet is changing the way people look for timeshare products, and more buyers are coming to sites such as ours looking for the best deal,” stated Kogelman. “Google estimates that 60,000 searches a month are done for the term ‘timeshares for sale’ with another 49,000 for ‘timeshare resale’, proving that people are looking for timeshare inventory online.”

Posted by Steve Luba in : Information, New Features,, Timeshare Resale, Wesley Kogelman , comments closed, the online leader in connecting timeshare owners with prospective buyers and renters, announces the expansion of its online contract verification program to include all timeshare owners who agree to advertise their timeshare for sale or rent on the company’s website. The move is an extension of its current program implemented for Florida-based timeshares and Florida residents, which resulted from new regulatory requirements in the state of Florida requiring a signed contract from consumers seeking to advertise a Florida-based timeshare for sale.

The process involves an online contract, stipulating the terms and conditions for advertising a timeshare for sale or rent on the company’s website, which is sent through an email link to an owner looking to advertise. The owner clicks onto the link, opens the contract, creates an online signature, signs the contract and authorizes the agreement; providing the regulatory compliance required under Florida law.

The program has been so successful that has decided to extend it to all advertisers worldwide regardless of where their timeshare is located.

“Obtaining a signed agreement from a potential advertiser has always been a hot topic in the timeshare resale sector and is one of the primary criteria which separates the legitimate operators from the shady ones,” said Wesley Kogelman, president and CEO, “In conjunction with the American Resort Development Association, Florida led the country in legislating this requirement to protect consumers and it has worked so well for us that we wanted to extend this to all of our clients.”

The procedure is conducted in real-time between the consumer and a company account executive, who walks the timeshare owner through the process. The email with the link is sent to the owner, who reads through the agreement while the account executive is on the phone with them in case they have any questions. Only after the contract is signed by the owner does the process continue towards payment of the advertisement.

“We initially developed the process before Florida made it mandatory. At first, our staff was hesitant because they didn’t know how it would affect us but it has been so successful that we saw the need to expand it,” Kogelman added. “Other states are discussing similar legislation. Colorado has just enacted it and it’s being reviewed in South Carolina and Massachusetts, so it’s just a matter of time before it is required across the country. That said, we have also extended this to our international advertisers as well.” is also the only for sale by-owner advertising company which discloses advertised timeshares which have sold, also in accordance with Florida law, so for more information about advertising timeshares for sale or for rent, visit . Shows Solid First Quarter Growth In Timeshare Buyer And Rental Offers April 30, 2013

Posted by Steve Luba in :, Timeshare Rental, Timeshare Resale, Wesley Kogelman , comments closed, the leading online platform for connecting timeshare buyers and renters with timeshare owners, announces double-digit increases in consumers looking to buy and rent timeshare in the first quarter of 2013.

The dollar value of buyer offers placed through the company’s industry-leading online marketplace increased 68 percent in Q1 2013 compared to the same period in 2012. The dollar value of rental offers was up 44 percent in the first quarter, with the total number of offers placed through the website up 85 percent so far this year.

All of these indicators are a significant sign that the health of the timeshare secondary market is improving according to CEO Wesley Kogelman.

“We’ve seen more consumers looking to buy timeshare and rent timeshare and this confirms that consumers continue to use the internet when looking for deals on our products,” Kogelman said. “Recent statistics from the American Resort Development Association even confirm the increased impact that online resales is having on overall industry sales and our numbers support this trend.”

At the recent American Resort Development Association convention in Hollywood, FL, industry statistics shared during the event stated that consumers acknowledge the advantages that resale companies have over developers. Buyers stated that finding the best price, the ability to negotiate price and securing the best terms for the deal as the reasons they purchase through a resale company compared to a developer.

“It’s all about the internet now. We hear about guests taking a tour at a resort, getting the resort price, then checking the internet to see how much they can save on the same product by buying online,” added Kogelman. “And with Google estimating that 670,000 searches for the word ‘timeshare’ are placed through their site every month, that’s a lot of potential buyers.”

Posted by Steve Luba in : CARE,, Wesley Kogelman , comments closed CEO Wesley Kogelman will discuss the state of the timeshare resale market as part of an industry panel during the Cooperative Association of Resort Exchangers (CARE) conference, scheduled for April 20-23 at the Springmaid Beach Resort in Myrtle Beach, SC.

Wes Kogelman headshotKogelman, along with Defender Resorts CEO Ken McKelvey and Jim Kwock of The Timeshare Kahuna, will provide insight during the “Trade-In, Relief or Resales” panel on Monday, April 22 at 10:00am. Heather Guffin, CEO of Alliances Sales and Marketing Solutions, will moderate the panel.

The secondary market has received considerable publicity in recent years, primarily due to the unscrupulous tactics of some companies which claim to be in the resale industry but instead prey on unsuspecting consumers. These companies boost their profits by either claiming to have buyers already waiting to buy an owner’s timeshare or through an unwillingness to market the products on behalf of owners.

Legislation was passed in Florida last year to require resale companies to document their processes by, for instance, requiring signed agreements from owners seeking to advertise their weeks for sale. This legislation resulted in a 57 percent drop in timeshare-related consumer complaints after becoming law. Additional legislation is currently being debated in state legislatures in Florida and Colorado which is aimed at cleaning up the so-called “Relief” practice of owners paying companies to take over ownership of their interval, which can often-times be at the detriment of resort operations.

“I very much look forward to discussing these issues with the CARE membership, as we are all heavily invested in the timeshare market and need to proactively seek ways to build a healthy resale marketplace,” Kogelman said. “Resales is the fastest-growing sector of the industry thanks to the advent of the internet, so it is in everybody’s best interest to seek solutions to these issues.”

Global timeshare resale and rental advertising leader announces the expansion of its Tampa, FL and Merrimack, NH offices through the creation of new positions in the areas of sales and customer service.

With these latest job offerings, the company will expand by 25 percent once these positions have been filled in order to keep up with the demand from consumers looking to sell or rent timeshare through the company website at

“We have seen substantial increases in both buyer and rental offers placed through our website during the first quarter of 2013, which is driving higher demand for our services,” said Wesley Kogelman, president and CEO, “The more consumers who are using our site, the more staff we need in order to service those owners and potential owners looking for deals.”

Buyer offers placed through increased 85 percent in the first quarter of 2013 compared to the previous year. To keep up with this growth, these new positions would be split evenly between the Florida and New Hampshire offices, giving people in both regions the opportunity to join the organization.

“We see the full range of people looking for their next vacation experience and many of them have questions about how the product works and which resort they can stay in,” added Kogelman. “More experienced owners can advertise inventory on our site and place offers to rent or buy timeshare directly through our automated system, but for the novice learning the system, it helps that they can call or email our customer service department for the information they are looking for.”

Children’s Hospital Fundraiser A Success With Help From April 4, 2013

Posted by Steve Luba in : Charity,, Wesley Kogelman , comments closed has received word that the annual CHaD Battle of the Badges All-Star Hockey Championship has raised just shy of $190,000 to support the Children’s Hospital at Dartmouth-Hitchcock (CHaD).

As a sponsor of the event, was informed by event organizers through email of the totals, with a record 5,511 people attending the event at the Verizon Wireless Arena in Manchester, NH on March 16.

web-chad_hockey_logo1CHaD is New Hampshire’s only full care children’s hospital, with this year’s event helping to bring the Battle of the Badges closer to its overall goal of raising $1 million. Over the six years that the event has taken place, organizers have now raised $980,000 to support the hospital.

“We have been involved with the event for the past 3 years, raising more than $7500 through cash donations and by hosting our own gathering at Margarita’s Restaurant in Manchester just before game time,” said Wesley Kogelman, president and CEO, “It’s all for the kids at CHaD and we’re happy to do our part to help support them.”

The Battle of the Badges brings New Hampshire firefighters and police officers together to face-off on the ice for bragging rights. This year, where more penalties were called than shots on goal, it was the return of Manchester police officer Dan Doherty that really drew a crowd. Doherty, who nearly lost his life a year earlier, was back on the ice for the Battle of the Badges. Even after a long recovery, he was able to score one of the opening goals and said every minute he played was a blessing.

“It’s closure,” Doherty explained. “This was the goal, one year ago, to play in this game this year. I didn’t think I would be here, but I am and everything worked out good.”

This year, the Battle of the Badges charity event was between East and West teams with each team featuring both firefighters and police officers. The game ended with Team West winning 6-5 even though Team East, trying to close a three-goal deficit, was unable to close the gap in time.

Posted by Steve Luba in : omegle dating site,, Timeshare Resale, Wesley Kogelman , comments closed, the most effective online platform available for connecting timeshare buyers, sellers and renters, announces that president and CEO Wesley Kogelman has been invited to participate as a table leader during the ARDA Resale Forum on Monday, April 8. The Forum will be the first official session of the 2013 ARDA World Convention, the world’s largest timeshare industry event, to be held April 8-11, 2013 at the Westin Diplomat Resort & Spa in Hollywood, Fl.

Entitled “What’s Driving the Secondary Market?”, the Resale Forum will gather the key industry executives from across the timeshare resale sector to examine the evolution of the secondary market and explore ways to support the development of a healthy resale industry.

Wes KogelmanThe internet has permanently changed the old adage that timeshare is a sold and not a sought good, with over 673,000 global searches on Google for the word timeshare,” said Kogelman. “If there are that many people going to Google and using the word timeshare in a search term, they are seeking out information about our product and that’s healthy for our industry.”

The Forum will be discussing issues such as buying power transitioning from the Boomer generation to Generation X and beyond, making traditional marketing techniques less effective as younger holidaymakers use the internet to plan their vacations.

“The traveling public predominantly uses the internet to research potential resort destinations, including timeshare resorts. After they arrive at the resort, they are still online researching the resort information, even as they are experiencing the sales presentation. So it shouldn’t surprise anyone that ARDA’s own research shows, over the last three years, more people have used the secondary market to buy timeshare,” Kogelman added.
